Johannes will be at the pitch (East Park) every Tuesday at 5:30 ready to work with whoever shows up. Each practice/run-around starts with a good warm up which leads into a “bit” of conditioning.
The conditioning will consist of rugby specific training. A lot of sprints ranging from 25 meters to 100 meters with push ups, sit ups and variations of each all mixed in.
After a few minutes of recovery we will split in to teams and play as much touch rugby as we can handle. The idea is to play when we are tired. It is much harder to pass and catch when you are ready to pass out from exhaustion. Whoever makes it out for these summer seasons will get the conditioning they need for the coming fall season plus they will remember what a freaking rugby ball looks like when it comes time to pick one up again.
If there is any interest in doing this on Thursdays for those guys who can’t make it Tuesday, please reply back to this email. If there are even just a few guys that can make it Thursdays, Johannes said he would drive in to work with them.
So again, Every Tuesday for sure and if we get enough of you guys saying you would be there Thursdays we would do that as well.
